Valerie Suderman
Valerie was born and raised on a small farm in a rural community in south central Manitoba. Living in a rural area provided many opportunities to be innovative and creative. She enjoyed school and was active in a variety of activities, both in school and in the community, such as music, drama, volunteering with youth and traveling. Valerie’s wide array of skills and interests has served her well and provided her with invaluable knowledge and opportunities whether working in customer service in the local Ford dealership, neighbourhood sub shop, pizza joint, or grocery store. Being an adventuresome person, Valerie also worked in tourism, and traveled extensively across Western Europe. As a young adult, she lived in France for a year, working, studying and traveling, all the while perfecting her French language skills. Upon her return to Manitoba, she attended Collège universitaire de Saint-Boniface (CUSB, now Saint Boniface University), which was the French arm of the University of Manitoba. Valerie received her Bachelor of Arts, with a specialization in French-English translation in 2002 from the University of Manitoba.
Valerie’s French language abilities have afforded her with many great opportunities. After graduating from university, she worked in the bilingual banking industry in several French-speaking communities, which led her to her next challenge: law. Valerie began her work in the legal field, from the ground up, as a bilingual legal assistant to French speaking lawyers. As a legal assistant, she worked with lawyers practicing corporate, commercial and tax law, as well as estate planning. After a number of years as a legal assistant, she attended law school at Robson Hall at the University of Manitoba. Upon graduation, she articled at a small bilingual law firm, learning proper French legal terminology while practicing in wills and estates, estate planning and real estate. Throughout her years of practice, she has a continued to expand her knowledge base while practicing in both residential and commercial real estate, corporate and commercial transactions, estate planning and estate administration, in both rural and urban settings.
Growing up in a small rural community has given Valerie a great understanding of farming, business and entrepreneurship.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children at their rural property, biking, hiking, fishing, dirt-biking and camping, when she is not helping her husband on the farm. She enjoys spending time reading and socializing with friends, and loves coffee. Come see Valerie for your corporate, commercial and residential real estate needs.
